I’ve spent the last several days slowing down a bit with the girls. They were both sick on and off, but mainly we were all just tired I think. So we let things slide, flaked on plans, and were late, late, late for school-all things I usually do not do. Ask my husband, being late makes me insane! But what I noticed about this little week of laziness, is that all is well. The world will go on if we are a little late for preschool, miss a ballet class or eat breakfast in bed because it’s just too cozy not to. I swear I noticed a difference in the girls too. Elle, who can be very moody and bossy sometimes, really chilled the attitude and I heard “Ok, Mommy” way more often than “Nooooooooooooahhh”. Coco, who’s pretty chill to begin with, helped me see the joy in simple things like a walk down the street. I realized I don’t have to have some crazy, uber-stimulating activity planned to make her happy, we could just open the door and go outside, which we did. Maybe it’s the little signs of Spring or post-5-year-old-birthday-exhaustion. Whatever it is, I hope it lasts-it feels good to be so unwound.

I think it’s so funny to see your daughter’s haircut, because it looks exactly like my daughter’s === only her bad haircut was created by her unskilled mother, as opposed to a well-meaning sister.
