Here’s what I’ve noticed so far…
The girls are interacting more than they have in years. We’ve been so focused on separating them and making sure they each had a friend on hand that they almost never interact anymore. Of course, we did this because their interactions were mostly awful. But these interactions are different. They’re, dare I say, sisterly. There is giggling, wrestling, teasing but friendly teasing, not like cut you right down to where it hurts you teasing.
Elle has been in a great mood. Coco has too but that’s to be expected. It’s her dream to stay home, be with her family, and have nowhere to be and nothing to do. But Elle, who before this was living at the mall, friend’s houses, and basically anywhere but here has surprised me. When I say no, she says ok. When I tell her to do something like clean up or get to bed, she does.
School starts tomorrow and the idea of homeschooling terrifies me, but maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised there as well.
