How tall are you? Technically I am six feet tall, but I usually say I am 5’11” to sound more petite. Yes, it’s ridiculous. There is nothing petite about me.
Where are your kids from? Are they adopted? My kids are mine. I gave birth to them, they are not adopted. They just look A LOT like my husband who is Thai and Chinese and has very strong genes. Fortunately he’s very cute, and so are they.
How did you get your name? While my mother was pregnant with me, she ran into a friend who was very excited about getting a new cat. He was going to name it Piper. Mom liked it so she gave it to me. I know, I’m working on a better story.
Why did you start blogging? I never got it together to make baby books for my kids. I have a few albums, and boxes of memorabilia from their early years, but I was never able to find the time or the right medium to properly document what life is like with them. A coworker suggested a blog and when I started researching them I realized it was the perfect way for me to do this. I love taking pictures of them and other things that inspire me, so a photo/lifestyle blog was a perfect fit. I quickly found that part of life with them, was this journey of finding a way to keep my sense of self and style while still giving myself to them whole heartedly. So along with cute pictures of them and anecdotes about our days, it was important for me to share other things in my life that I love like all things pretty, funny and inspiring.
What kind of camera do you use? I use a Nikon D7000, and I have several lenses, including a 50mm, a 40mm and a Tamron 18-200mm zoom lens.
Who takes the pictures of you for the outfit recipes? It takes a village to put together the outfit recipes. Ashley Forchelli shoots a majority of them, Mike takes some and I have just started taking a few myself. When I do take them myself, I use a Nikon ML-L3 remote control and a tripod.
Where do you like to shop? In terms of what is close to me, some of my favorite stores include J.Crew, Zara, Anthropologie, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. Dream stores I’d love to shop at are Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. In truth, I am wildly intimidated to shop there if it’s not for a styling job or personal shopping. I do a lot of window shopping online, some of my favorite sites are Shopbop, Rue La La, One Kings Lane, Madewell and Swell.
If you could splurge on one item of clothing what would it be? Probably a Rick Owens leather jacket. They are insanely expensive, but the kind of piece you would have forever and could wear a million different ways. Knowing me, I’d probably wear it every day and it would become my calling card, like Fonzie.
